3 Ways to Glam Up Your Hair for the Holidays

Whether it’s a holiday party, or new Years Eve bash, arrive in style with a fabulous ‘do! Here are 3 ways to glam up your strands for the holidays:

1) Loose, tousled curls:Prep your strands with a hot iron spray, setting spray, or ironing creme (my personal favourite is F450 One Pass- Hot Iron Activated Styling Creme). Separate your hair in sections about as wide as the diameter of your curling iron and curl all sections away from the face, meeting in the back if the head. For a tousled look, deconstruct the curl by holding the ends with one hand, while using the other hand to manipulate and break up the curl using the curling iron in a clamping motion down the hair shaft. finish with a light serum and texturizing taffy from the mid-shaft to ends.

2) side chignon:This tousled side chignon can be done on curly (natural or ironed) or straight hair. Back comb the crown with a fine toothed comb to prep. Pull all hair to one side (use the back of the ear as a guide.), twist into a bun until taught and secure with bobby pins until secure. use your fingers to lightly pull apart and deconstruct the bun for a more “messy” playful look. then using a tail comb, or even a pen, insert into the crown area and pull the hair up for volume and to loosen up the crown area. finish with a flexible hairspray.

3) Braided updo:French braid hair down the back of your head and secure with a band. use your fingers to gently pull apart the braid so that it sits loosely on the head. Pick up the tail of the braid where the band is, and tuck into the nape area underneath the braid. Secure with bobby pins and finishing spray… and viola! You’ve got a sexy, tousled, boho-chic updo in a snap!
