Red Luscious Lips » Glowing with … Benefit Bella Bamba

So how much does it cost to get radiant and glowing skin?

I can tell you that it’ll be about USD28.

That was how much I paid for Benefit’s new “3D Brightening Pink Face Powder”, or more popularly known by the rather fetching name of Bella Bamba (online at the Benefit website).

Bella Bamba is extremely pigmented, and you sooo need the right brush for this for best pick-up and distribution – forget about the one that comes with it – Etude’s House Duo Fiber Cheek Brush works just nicely. With the right brush, you’re looking at one helluva product – it goes on a happy, punchy pink that will add a sparkle to your eyes, and a glow to your complexion. I didn’t quite get the “3D” in the description, but I’d assume that maybe that was what all that sprinkling of gold glitter (mixed with the delicious ripe pink shade) was there for. You’re supposed to get major, sculpted cheekbones after wearing this – but hey, if you’re not Karlie Kloss …

The glitter might intimidate some, but I think it’s just enough to give you that glow – the Benefit website recommends using The Porefessional with Bella Bamba – and I totally agree, especially if you have pores issues. They work really well together, and you don’t want to be highlighting the wrong thing now, do you?

Its staying power is phenomenal. this is the blush I reach for when I know I need to look good the whole day (with minimal touch-ups). I’ve done full days and still look bright and chirpy at 11pm. and I know this little wonder box has to do with it.

Speaking of the box, I know there are a lot of opinions out there on the new packaging. if you ask me, I never really found anything wrong with the old one – except that they were always too bulky to my liking. and this new flip-top box doesn’t do anything to me either, not even the fact that it now comes with an attached mirror. So there.

So what if the box annoys you a little, it’s what’s inside that you’re going to be in love with.

1296198044 34 What does applying eyeshadow with a wet brush do differently than a dry brush?

BQ : Will it ruin the powder eyeshadow

tHnakS!

Applying eyeshadow with a wet brush will deepen the color on your lid. it might also cause it to crease, or cake up.

You could also use a primer on your lid instead of the water. I like Urban Decay Primer Potion. it will help your eyeshadow to stay on longer, and deepen the color.

A dry brush will apply the color as it appears in the container. it won't ruin the eyeshadow unless you pour water into the eyeshadow container.

If you apply it with a wet brush, it makes it darker. like, you know how if you buy a dark blue eyeshadow and apply it on a dry brush, it'll come out lighter than the actual color? If you apply it with a wet brush, it usually ends up being the same/closer to the actual color of the eyeshadow, not lighter like if you did with a dry brush.

&no, my actual eyeshadow never got ruined.

making the eyeshadow wet creates a more intense color. If you want to do this, make sure to use only a small section of the pan, because doing it wet will make the eyeshadow hard. Or, you can put the eyeshadow on the brush and spray something like mac's fix+ on the brush after putting the eyeshadow on the brush to save the eyeshadow.

Applying with a wet brush brings out the pigments of the eyeshadow like pretty much x10. it really intesifies the color so it's perfect for going out at night, not typically a daytime look though. but if you're bold then go for it. No it will not ruin the powder eyeshadow, a little water never killed anyone. :)

If you do it with a wet brush it will make the color darker and deeper. And no, it shouldn't damage the eyeshadow.

no it just come off as a different texture

Organic Makeup Exposed

Organic make up is another form of makeup that is getting attention lately. With the cosmetic industry embracing them, you can usually find them onto your local stores. With most women using it has been doubled since 2007, it may be great to see what is all about this Organic Makeup.

With everyday use, you can surely get the best out of natural products. Most of the Makeup uses plant waxes, barks, spices, natural oil and mineral pigments. All products must have to be naturally obtained and will not damage the skin. Moreover, when using them, they tend to remove the skin problems that are evident in regular makeup. Also, they don’t have any preservatives at all nor harsh chemicals, these triggers rashes and many skin problems, if you have tried natural makeup and getting redness, you can switch to organic and you can see a world of difference.

BENEFITS OF GOING ORGANIC

People that have skin problems can benefit most from these products. Even with acne, allergies, rosacea and other skin irritations can now use organic makeup for them. Mostly, it will now have the adverse reactions that most makeup does. With it, the people that have started to use them have now had clearer skin and removed the irritations; it is because the natural ingredients that composes of these makeups. There may be many products that say about being purely organic; this is not usually the case.

In the cosmetic market, Lead is present to most eyeliner, it may be shocking at first but that’s reality. With all the hype of manufacturers about being natural, there is really some catch to it.

For most of the time, people will likely believe most of what the products labels are. From organic, natural to many 100 claims that most of the time would eventually fail the test of being so. But for now, we will get through how to tell how organic a product is.

To put it this way, there are often many substances that are put to cosmetic products. For instance, a lipstick, it may have fragrance chemicals, toxins and even preservatives. With an average woman would consume 5 pounds of it on her entire life, it would be wise to switch to organic products.

You can easily purchase organic makeup with seals. It often has the guarantee that all of the ingredients are natural. Most will likely trick you that they are natural when not. An example of this is products using petroleum bases. Make sure that seals are always present in purchasing especially on new products.

Most of the industry’s organic market is under regulated; this means that anybody can claim on having organic ingredients. Many companies claim that they are using it. Here are the pointers and facts of having organic cosmetic products.

If you would see something about 100 organic, you can bet that it may be the real thing. Don’t get caught within the term Natural as it may be just marketing.

As to that, having a Natural label never means it’s organic. All of these are not even healthy for you. Pay close attention to these terms when you buy organic make up.

~ LinZ Lacquer: Revlon Scented Polishes

1296111677 72 ~ LinZ Lacquer: Revlon Scented PolishesHello, Everyone! Today I had to make a quick run at Walgreens and guess what I found?  I saw that Revlon has a bunch of scented nail polishes (scented when dry).  So, I looked at the colors and the scents and chose….

“Mad about Mango”!  I LOVE mangos, so it was only natural that I pick this color.  plus, the other scents bored me (ie. Ocean Breeze, etc.)So. I will have a swatch hopefully tomorrow. :) And I am patiently waiting for my closest ULTA to get O.P.I’s Katy Perry collection.  and hopefully I can get some colors from China Glaze’s Anchors away collection soon at Sally’s.
And on a side note, I’ve been thinking about cutting my nails, not to total nubbins, but definitely shorter.

1295938924 82 What do you think is the best and cheapest mineral makeup/brushes?

I have tried Raw beauty and it was okay but a little pricey for my taste. I would like to know what other mineral makeup is out there, something cheap and easily findable in stores (preferably). I am also looking for cheap, good brushes that can be found in stores (preferably). I'm thinking about buying sonia kushik brushes but i'm not sure if theyre good or not. I am also thinking about ecotools or studiotools, are they any good>?

sonia kashuk and ecotools are both really good. but i'm really attached to my ecotools set at the moment. i havent tried studiotools.

coastalscents hope this helped

I agree with caroline: coastal scents is really good you can find a lot of great reviews on them on youtube

ps- check out my youtube channel!!

it would mean a lot if you subscribed to me;]!

I would really recommend ecotools. They are the softest brushes that I have ever felt, and I have spent fortunes on makeup brushes in the past (from Sonia Kushik to Clinique to Sephora to M.a.C) and I honestly love my ecotools over any of the more expensive brands i've bought. It's incredibly reasonably priced and they are so soft they feel like you are rubbing velvet or silk on your face. I've had these brushes for about a year now and haven't stopped using them. also, they retain their shape after washing and have not shed a single hair since i've bought them! Highly recommended!

The body shop also sells brushes that are great quality and incredibly soft, but are more on the pricey end. As for coastal scents brushes, I haven't had the greatest experiences with their brushes, but i've heard some good reviews on a select few. the brushes i've tried in the past either felt very scratchy, shed, bled or all of the above.

Good Luck in finding your brushes

Which should I buy? I heard great things about Eco Tools' eyeshadow brush and liner brush, but I want to get the urban decay powder brush. I don't know if I want to mix the brands at all. What would you choose? which do you like better?

Eco tools of course! They are better for the environmant and are wayyyyy cheeper. buy the powder brussh from urban decay and then get the eco brushes. it doesnt matter if you mix, as long as you like the feel and look the the brush gives you. If i were you i would go with all of the eco tools, but thats just me. I dont like Urban Decay.

well i love urban decay so i personally would get the urban decay brush. if you want it get it.

1295074846 95 Recycled plastic housing resists earthquakes, hurricanes, rot, insects and mould Image 1 of 8

Each year natural disasters and civil unrest leave hundreds of thousands of people homeless throughout the world. many of these crises occur in developing nations where traditional building materials are either unavailable or prohibitively expensive, and where the focus is often on staying alive, not maintenance of a home. The ECO:Shield system from Innovative Composites International Inc. (ICI) may present a welcome solution. The earthquake and hurricane resistant houses use recyclable materials and according to ICI, are cheaper than both conventional and other modular constructions. they are energy efficient and durable – resisting moisture, insects, rot and mould. And they can be constructed quickly using unskilled labor: an 8′ x 16′ (2.4 x 4.9 meters) ECO:Shield house can be assembled in less than 45 minutes with standard tools.

If you guys haven’t tried any brushes from the EcoTools line, you must!  I never like spending a ton of money on make up brushes….I mean sure I love to do makeup, but the time allotted to do a killer look is slim to none; so most of the time I go for a simple look.  all that is to say, I don’t need to invest in an amazing set of MAC brushes, BUT I def don’t want cheap and easily breakable brushes.

A few years ago, I was hunting around in drugstores for a lash and brow brush because every single  one I’ve owned has broken within the first month of use.  so, while I was in CVS one day, I found the EcoTools Bamboo Lash & Brown Groomer ($2.99) and it seemed like a good one to go with.  I really liked the fact it was made from natural and recycled materials.  After years have gone by it’s still in tact and strong, except for the lash comb–the teeth are completely gone and it just looks like a bracket now, lol…but the the head and brush part are still great, and is still grooming my eyebrows to this day!  I would definitely try other brushes from this brand, and would love to hear from others who have tried other brushes from EcoTools!

Pros: Good price; can be found in most drug stores and online;  great at keeping your brows in tact;  eco-friendly;  well-made for the price

Cons:  The teeth of the lash comb broke off (can’t remember at what point this happened)
